I first noticed these sweet birds after the 2020 bushfires. I’d never seen them on our property, then for weeks they came in droves. I could hear their creaky door calls as they munched away on the gum trees, probably the only food around for miles. They drank the water I put out for them and in return let me take A LOT of photos. A few months later they all disappeared.
